Lounge Review: Vientiane Wattay International Airport Lounge

0
Vientiane Wattay International Airport in Laos is a small airport (I think there were only 3 gates). I had a 60 minute stopover in Vientiane enroute to Luang Prabang. Silkair flies from Singapore to Luang Prabang via Ventiane twice a week. When I arrived at the airport, it was not crowded and there were not many passengers waiting to board the plane at the departure hall. There was a cafe at the end of the departure hall, a gift shop and an airline lounge operated by Lao – Japan Airport Terminal Services. Fortunately, I was on Silkair’s business class and hence we were given access to this lounge while waiting for Silkair to offload the bags of those disembarking in Vientiane.
The main departure/waiting hall.

Again, the lounge is not particularly fancy, and that should not be a surprise to you.

You can pay to access the lounge.

The lounge green and red PVC armchairs, though cheesy, were a ‘cheerful’ touch to an otherwise more subdued lounge.

Reading materials…

I don’t recall any hot food, but there were plenty of local pastries.
Assorted beverages and their local beer. I am a teetotaller, so I can’t tell you how it tastes like.
A clean and functional toilet. No shower facilities.
