Lounge Review: Orchid – Ho Chi Minh Airport

Orchid Lounge

Let me begin by saying this Priority Pass lounge is extremely disappointing. Whilst waiting in a private area seated on lounge chairs instead of the rather uncomfortable terminal chairs makes life at this boring airport a little more bearable, nothing else is worth writing home about.

Staff at the desk was very welcoming and friendly. They do try their best but this lounge’s offering is mediocre at best. Let’s begin with the decor and upkeep, this lounge shows signs of extreme wear. Carpets are frayed and stained, lounge chairs are sunken, food warmers barely working, I could go on.

There is a reasonable variety of food on display. I love the idea of having a traditional Vietnamese breakfast but with the exception of the Pho (Vietnamese noodle soup), nothing else is actually hot. None of the food warmers are actually hot. I took a spoonful of the decent looking fried rice and stir fry dish, but sadly had to spit them out.

I was excited when I saw the sight of Vietnamese coffee and condensed milk at the dink bar. In fact, my eyes lit up! I poured myself a cup and stirred in some condensed milk (maybe a lot) then as I took my first sip, I was thoroughly disappointed again. It was barely lukewarm.

Here are some photos of this rather depressing lounge.
