Hotel Review: Hilton Beijing Capital Airport

Hilton Beijing Capital International Airport is one of two airport hotels located within the grounds of the airport but yet requires a bus transfer. It is a very big hotel but this is understandable considering the fact that PEK handles upwards of 90 million passengers annually! Big hotels often comes at the cost of service because every guest is just a number but it felt different here. I did feel special in all my interactions with the hotel staff, but that probably has to do with my status!

After a long overnight flight, I simply could not wait to get into my room to luxuriate in a nice hot shower (and bath!). To my surprise, I was upgraded to a large one bedroom suite and being alone, I felt like I could easily get lost in my own room.

Then it was time to enjoy some breakfast at the Executive Lounge. The spread was pretty decent although the coffee could have been better. It was an eerily quiet morning at the lounge!

I managed to squeeze in a 30-minute power nap before it was time to head back to the airport for my next flight. I was only in the room for about 5 hours but I sure wished I had more time! Although the hotel is probably less than a kilometre away from the airport, it took the shuttle bus almost 20 minutes to get me to the terminal because of the slow traffic in the area.
