Lounge Review: KIX North Lounge, Kansai International Airport Osaka

After so many years of not being able to visit Japan, I was very much looking forward to visiting one of Japan Airlines’ Sakura Lounges. Hence, I arrived at the airport very early in the morning and was one of the first in line at the premium check-in desk. Check-in was prompt and efficient as you would expect in a Japanese airport but the bad news came pretty quickly too, that the JAL Lounges at Kansai have not reopened yet. I was directed to the KIX North Lounge instead.

After clearing immigration and security, I had to carefully read the instructions given on how to get to the lounge. There were some construction going on within the terminal so it was rather confusing and involved going up and down different set of elevators.

This lounge is a very small lounge but nonetheless, it was definitely comfortable and offered very beautiful views! Catering was tasty and fresh, and staff were attentive and helpful.

Flight Review: TK168 Turkish Airlines Singapore-Melbourne Economy Class (Inaugural)

On March 2, 2024, TK168 departed from Singapore to Melbourne. Due to a last-minute rescheduling, the flight was light, with only around 50 passengers in Economy. However, Business Class appeared full, likely due to VIPs and media accompanying Dr. Ahmet Bolat, the Chairman of Turkish Airlines. The entire Business Class section was reserved for VIPs.
