Adelaide Airport is getting busier with direct international routes. No more stopovers in Sydney or Melbourne for some key destinations. Here’s what’s new or returning around now and into 2026.

Qantas to Auckland

Qantas started flying direct to Auckland on 31 October 2025. It’s four times a week on a Boeing 737-800, running until 3 May 2026. This is Qantas’ first international service from Adelaide in over a decade. It opens easy connections to New York via Auckland too.

Other recent additions

  • Indonesia AirAsia began Bali flights in June 2025. Affordable way into Southeast Asia.
  • Malaysia Airlines goes daily to Kuala Lumpur from February 2026 (up from five weekly now).
  • China Eastern plans direct Shanghai service from mid-2026. Three weekly and first ever to mainland China’s biggest city.

These routes make Adelaide feel more connected. Easier for business, family visits, or holidays. And they bring more visitors to South Australia’s wine regions and events.
