Lounge Review: The Singapore Airlines Lounge in Jakarta’s Saphire Plaza Premium

Date:

Singapore Airlines doesn’t run its own standalone lounge at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK). Instead, it partners with Plaza Premium Group to offer a dedicated space inside the Saphire Plaza Premium Lounge in Terminal 3. This setup gives Business Class passengers (and eligible others) a quieter, more exclusive area compared to the main lounge. It’s a practical arrangement for a busy route like Jakarta to Singapore.

The Seat in the Middle 1

The lounge sits airside in Terminal 3’s international departures area, near Gate 7. After security and immigration, head toward the Saphire Plaza Premium Lounge signage. Show your Singapore Airlines boarding pass at reception. Staff check eligibility and guide you through the main Plaza Premium area to the Singapore Airlines section at the far end.

Access works for Singapore Airlines Business Class passengers departing on SQ flights. It also covers First Class, KrisFlyer Gold, Star Alliance Gold, and PPS Club members on SQ. The lounge isn’t open to other airlines’ premium passengers or general Priority Pass users in this dedicated part—those folks stay in the main Plaza Premium space.

The Business Class section feels separate and more controlled. It’s a large room with mixed seating: sofas, armchairs, and some tables. Windows look out toward the parking area, so the views aren’t dramatic, but natural light helps. The space stays quieter than the main lounge outside, which can get crowded. Recent visits describe it as calm even during peak times.

Food comes from a buffet setup. Expect hot and cold options, with both Western and Asian choices. Breakfast might include eggs, pastries, nasi goreng, or congee if you’re there early. Lunch and dinner rotate similar items—stir-fries, curries, salads, and sandwiches. Some reviewers note the food matches the main Plaza Premium buffet but feels fresher or less picked over in the SQ area. One or two dishes sometimes differ slightly for SQ passengers. Drinks include self-serve stations for soft drinks, juices, coffee, and tea. Alcohol is available, though it’s not a full bar like in some lounges. Barista coffee stands out as a highlight—decent quality espresso and lattes.

Seating varies enough for different needs. You can find spots for working, relaxing, or eating. Power outlets and USB ports are common. Wi-Fi is free and reliable, as in the main lounge. Showers exist in the overall Plaza Premium facility, but the SQ Business section doesn’t have private ones—use the shared ones if needed. No dedicated restrooms in the SQ area either; they’re in the larger lounge.

The Seat in the Middle 11

The First Class section sits further back, separated for Suites or First Class passengers. It’s smaller and more premium, but Business Class travelers stick to their area. The whole setup feels like a lounge within a lounge—practical for SQ to maintain standards without building from scratch.

Recent reviews from 2025 and 2026 call it solid for what it is. One describes the Business area as spacious with good variety. Another praises the calm atmosphere compared to the busier main lounge. Food gets decent marks—not exceptional, but better than average airport fare. Staff are helpful and keep things orderly.

If you’re flying Singapore Airlines Business Class out of Jakarta, arrive early enough to use it. The lounge opens for SQ departures, typically aligning with flight times. It’s a nice perk on a short hop to Singapore. The partnership delivers a consistent experience without the full SilverKris branding.

Overall, this isn’t a flagship lounge, but it beats waiting in the terminal or sharing space with everyone else. Clean, comfortable, and focused on SQ passengers. Worth the time if your schedule allows.
