I recently had the opportunity to stay at voco Bali Seminyak, just a few weeks after its official opening. As a Platinum IHG Rewards member, I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a Pool View room, which turned out to be one of the highlights of the stay. The hotel is tucked away in a central part of Seminyak, close to the vibrant shopping streets and only a short distance from the beach, offering the kind of location that makes it easy to explore the area while still enjoying a sense of calm within the property.
Check-in was smooth, and the staff—though clearly still finding their footing as a newly opened team—were friendly, welcoming, and enthusiastic. There was a genuine effort from everyone to ensure guests felt cared for, and while there were minor signs that operations were still ramping up, the service felt warm and attentive. The Pool View room I was upgraded to was modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed. It featured a comfortable bed, a sleek bathroom with a rain shower and separate tub, and a balcony that overlooked the serene pool area. Everything in the room felt fresh, from the bedding to the eco-friendly amenities, which aligned well with voco’s brand promise of relaxed, unstuffy comfort with a sustainable touch.
The pool itself was one of the standout features of the hotel, particularly during Bali’s hot afternoons. Lined with loungers and surrounded by a peaceful courtyard, it was a great spot to unwind with a book or simply enjoy the quiet atmosphere.
There is a restaurant on-site that serves all-day dining, and although the menu looked diverse and appealing, I didn’t get the chance to dine there during my short stay. What I was really looking forward to, however, was the rooftop bar that had been promoted as a signature venue of the hotel. Unfortunately, due to low occupancy during the soft opening period, the bar was not yet operational.
Overall, voco Bali Seminyak shows strong promise. While it’s still early days, the combination of thoughtful design, excellent location, and warm staff already sets a solid foundation. With the kinks of a brand-new opening slowly being ironed out, I have no doubt this property will soon be among the top choices in Seminyak. As an IHG loyalist, it’s great to see voco bringing a fresh, contemporary option to Bali, and I’m already looking forward to returning once the rooftop bar is open and the hotel is in full swing.
