Singapore Airlines to Embrace Cryptocurrency

The first airline to fly the A380 commercially is now also the first to implement Kryptocurrencies cryptocurrencies into their frequent flyer platform.

Singapore Airlines is releasing their own blockchain wallet called the KrisApp where you can spend your Krisflyer miles easily.

“I think we are the first airline to do it,” said Goh Choon Phong, the airline’s chief executive at the Singapore Airshow Aviation Leadership Summit, according to Reuters. The blockchain technology will first be available for use by its partners and vendors. Singapore Airlines intend to roll it out to their retail partners as well.

Two other airlines, Air New Zealand and Lufthansa, have also started building travel apps using blockchain technology within the last year.
