Hotel Review: Hilton Beijing Capital Airport

This is my second review of this hotel because my first stay was way too short to take any meaningful photographs (LOL). As you can tell, this stay took place before the lockdowns at the start of 2020, just before Chinese New Year.

This hotel located minutes away from Terminal 3 and there is a bus that shuttles guests back and forth the airport. It makes it the ideal place for layover especially for those early morning flights. It is a HUGE hotel and considering the fact that Beijing now has brand new airport in Daxing, it might actually be too big. It sure was very quiet while I was there. Service though, was top notch.

Checking in was a breeze but the trek to my room was tiring! I won’t complain though because I was upgraded to a huge suite for this stay in recognition of my Diamond Honors status.

As I had already eaten a very heavy lunch, I thought I would just go get a light bite at the Executive Lounge, and that would be my dinner. To my surprise, the lounge actually serves up a full dinner with everything from the usual Hors d’oeuvres to heavy mains and sweet desserts. My only complaint is that the lounge was probably a little too dark for my liking.

Before retiring for the night, I checked out the fitness centre and had a decent workout in solitary!

After a couple of hours of sleep, it was time to get ready for my long flight home. But, I was not going to leave without checking out the hotel’s breakfast spread. Breakfast at the main restaurant was a feast!

Flight Review: TK168 Turkish Airlines Singapore-Melbourne Economy Class (Inaugural)

On March 2, 2024, TK168 departed from Singapore to Melbourne. Due to a last-minute rescheduling, the flight was light, with only around 50 passengers in Economy. However, Business Class appeared full, likely due to VIPs and media accompanying Dr. Ahmet Bolat, the Chairman of Turkish Airlines. The entire Business Class section was reserved for VIPs.
