Norway’s low-cost carrier, Norwegian is slated to fly into Singapore from London come 28th September this year. Joining the ranks of Singapore airlines, British Airways and Garuda, Norwegian will be the fourth carrier to fly direct to London. However, the latter arrives at Gatwick instead of Heathrow for the other three.

According to reports, ” (Norwegian) flying four times a week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, Norwegian will increase the service to five times for the Northern winter season between late October and late March the following year.”

Norwegian is also the second LCC that operates out of Singapore into Europe. The other one is Scoot (a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines) that wings into Athens. I went to Norwegian’s website and played around a bit with their reservation system. Indeed, there were fares that are still going at S$199. The return journey costs twice as much. Take note that no bags and meals are included if you chose the cheapest fare. A next upgrade Low+ will entitle you to one checked bag and a meal. I am curious to see what they serve onboard.

No bags and meal. So pick LowFare+.

And the total cost came up to be SGD 699.80. Pretty decent considering that the next cheapest direct ticket to London was $1300 on British Airways.
