Review: Cathay Pacific Business Class Lounge Suvarnabhumi Airport

Date:

I think Cathay Pacific is fabulous! In this day and age, I cannot think of any other reason that can compete with ‘service’ other than ‘price’. Cathay Pacific’s business class service was beautiful.

I booked myself on a premium economy seat from Bangkok to Singapore but I got upgraded to Business Class at the airport. I have yet to try out the premium economy product on Cathay and I thought I would like to do that this time so I can write about the product. (Un)fortunately, I got a free upgrade to business class and for that I am not going to complain.

The business class lounge at Suvarnabhumi airport was great! I love the lounge, the decoration, the colours and the food. This lounge is definitely better than the one in Melbourne (watch it here).

Cathay Pacific Business Class at Suvarnabhumi International Airport has a sort of ‘premium’ feel to it. Very similar (albeit physically smaller) to home-based lounge kind of ambience.

The business class lounge is located at Concourse G Level 3 of the Suvarnabhumi International Airport. Suvarnabhumi Airport is a ‘long’ airport. The gates between B and F are very far apart and when I mean far, is very far. So, if the flight you are going to catch is not anywhere near gates G, be prepared to leave the lounge early so as to give yourself ample time to find the right gates.

The entrance to the lounge has a very nice shade of bronze-like hue. It gives out a very ‘premium’ identity.

My flight was at 11am. I had to have my breakfast in the lounge and thankfully, I love what they have to offer there. It was good!

The main dining area. Reminds me of a nice restaurant setting.

Plenty of comfortable chairs and seating area.

Then, it was time to board my flight to Singapore. I was surprised to see that Cathay used the Thompson seat for this two-hour sector. I am not sure whether this was a last minute arrangement or not. I took Cathay Pacific from Hong Kong to Singapore before and for this four-hour plus flight, I had a regional business class seat. So when I got to see this seat, I was delighted.

The food and service were very typical of a five star Asian airline. Impeccable. I actually prefer Cathay over Singapore Airlines.
