Flight Review: SQ237 Singapore-Melbourne Singapore Airlines The Suites

Date:

By the time I left The Private Room, it was nearly midnight and way past my bedtime. I was exhausted as it had a been a long day for me so I was definitely looking forward to getting some sleep on my way back home to Melbourne. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the best experience for me because the security area for Gates A1-A5 was an absolute mess that evening and there were no priority lines for premium passengers so this was an immediate thumbs down to Changi Airport’s efficiency rating.

I was the first the board and was greeted by two very friendly cabin crew. The leading stewardess escorted me to my Suite and explained to me how everything works, before offering to bring me a drink. The cabin manager then came to introduce himself and wished me a pleasant flight.

Whilst all the crew members were very friendly, helpful and efficient, dining on this flight was a letdown. I was very disappointed with the food offering especially considering that this flight originated from the home base, Singapore. The Chinese dumpling presented to me was cold on the inside and was not tasty at all. Breakfast too was mediocre.

The lavatories were very large and plush, but did not have the WOW factor like one would find on the Emirates A380.

Nonetheless, the bed was very comfortable and I did enjoy a good night’s rest in the skies!
