Lounge Review: Singapore Airlines – The Private Room, Singapore Changi Airport

The Private Room is Singapore Airlines’ most exclusive lounge and is only accessible to passengers flying on First or Suites. Guests are strictly not allowed into this lounge. Passengers with guests are invited to use the adjacent First Class Lounge. Instead of being dropped off at the main kerbside of Terminal 3, a left turn brings you to the exclusive check-in area for First and Suites passengers. Porters are very swift to assist with your luggage and you are then promptly escorted into the “hotel lobby like” area of the terminal. All check-in procedures are taken care of here in this very elegant lounge.

The check-in process was very efficient and I was very promptly presented with my boarding pass before being escorted to the exclusive immigration clearance area. From there it was only a short walk to the SilverKris Lounge precinct where I was then personally escorted to The Private Room.

Dining at the lounge was a very intimate affair. I was presented with a very elaborate a-la-carte menu with an extensive choice of cuisine and drinks.

After dinner, I decided to check out the nap rooms and freshen up myself in the showers before my flight.

It was a very quiet evening in The Private Room so I wandered over next door to the First Class Lounge where Star Alliance First Class passengers are invited to, and any passengers with guests flying First or Suites on Singapore Airlines.

Before long, it was time for me to start my long trek to the departure gate and experience The Suites, some say it is the finest in the skies!

Flight Review: CX439 Airbus 321NEO New Business Class ICN-HKG

Flew Cathay Pacific's new business class on their A321Neo (adorable "mini racoon" nickname?). Huge upgrade from their older domestic seats! The wider, comfy seats impressed me. But the star was the recline. Unlike some airlines (think budget carriers), it wasn't just a footrest and lean back. This seat reclined like a rocking chair, distributing weight evenly and giving great back support – perfect for shorter flights!
