Electronic Cigarettes are illegal in Thailand

Date:

Planning for a trip to Thailand soon? If you are a smoker or an e-smoker, read on.

Vaporisers (like e-cigarettes and e-baraku) and/or its refills are illegal in Thailand since 2014. You are not allowed to bring them into the country.

According to the UK’s foreign travel advice website,

You could be fined or sent to prison for up to 10 years if convicted. The sale or supply of e-cigarettes and similar devices is also banned and you could face a heavy fine or up to 5 years imprisonment if found guilty

CTV news website reported that the ban is to prevent young people from being hook-winked into smoking. Although you might have seen people vaping in Thailand, offenders are at risk of breaking the law as e-cigarettes are prohibited items.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you…
